Mary Elizabeth Foley, 47, died Jan. 10 from ovarian cancer.

She was born Aug. 20, 1965, in Westminster, Md., the fourth child of Constance G. St. Clair Foley, of Waterbury, and the late James P. Foley.

Ms. Foley attended St. Francis Xavier School in New Milford, St. Joseph's School in Brookfield and Immaculate High School in Danbury. She received a bachelor's degree in mathematics with a minor in computer science from the University of Connecticut.

Ms. Foley settled in San Diego, Calif., following her college graduation and resided there, establishing many valued friendships.

She was employed as a systems analyst for CCN and later Cypress Point of San Diego.

Most recently, she became an caregiver for the elderly.

Ms. Foley was a member of the St. Germain Foundation in San Diego, where she actively volunteered.

Her retreats to Mount Shasta were treasured experiences.

In addition to her mother, Ms. Foley is survived by a brother, James Foley, and his wife, Carol, of Norwalk; three sisters, Kathryn Foley, of St. Paul, Minn., and Margaret Gillen, and her husband, Peter, and Sharon Michalek, and her husband, Gregory, all of New Milford; three nephews, Peter, Patrick and A.J.; a niece, Sarah; and a great-niece, Emily. She was predeceased by a nephew, Mark Gillen.

There are no calling hours.

A memorial service will take place Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church on Route 109 in New Milford and Feb. 9 at a time and location to be announced in the San Diego area. For more information about the California service, visit
