Mary A. (Hulton) Collins, 88, died Jan. 25, 2009, in Lawrenceville, Ga.

She was born May 1, 1920, in New Milford, daughter of the late Mary (Rooney) and James R. Hulton Sr.

She was a beautician and owned a shop (formerly Zimmers) on Bank Street and then one in Kent. She was an avid golfer.

Mrs. Collins then moved with her family to Fond Du Lac, Wis. where her husband played ball with the Yankee Farm Team, only to be interrupted by his service in the Navy.

Eventually, she and her family moved to Decatur, Ga. where Mary worked for many years for the I.R.S.

Mrs. Collins was predeceased by her husband Frederick; a son, Matthew; and two brothers,
Philip J. Hulton and Patrick D. Hulton.

She is survived by a daughter, and son-in-law, Toni and Bob Akin
of Lawrenceville; two grandchildren, Katie and Chris; a great-grandchild, Will Walpert; three brothers, James Hulton Jr., Paul Hulton and Leo Hulton , all of New Milford; four sisters, Catherine Schaffer , Geraldine Knowles , Helena Conn and Elizabeth Peyron , all of New Milford; and many nieces and nephews.

The Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home in Norcross, Ga. was in charge of arrangements.
