White Silo Farm & Winery in Sherman will open an exhibit of works by resident Paula Sibrack Marian July 9 with a reception from 4 to 6 p.m.

The show, “Mirror Images,” which integrates beads, clay and mirrors, will run through July.

In addition, paintings by Jessica Ifshin will be on exhibit.

Marian, a potter for 45 years, retired as head art teacher at New Milford High School.

Her interest in ceramic beads led to collecting new and vintage beads and the design and construction of her adjustable necklaces.

Marian was awarded a year sabbatical in 2005, which she spent as a research intern at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and as a student at Parsons School of Design studying Decorative Arts.

Marian, who has a master’s degree in ceramics, has worked with most clay bodies and firing temperatures; she presently creates ∆06 electric fired earthenware.

Her interest in color, pattern and decoration reflects her travel and study in China, Mexico, Romania and Cuba.

The Sherman gallery at 32 Route 37 East is open Fridays from noon to 8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
