MVP-SOS, a volunteer nonprofit foundation dedicated to raising funds for youth in New Milford, madw a splash Feb. 27 as it began its 10th year of service to the community.
The charitable organization hosted an event from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at The Cookhouse at 31 Danbury Road (Route 7).
A portion of the day's food and drink sales benefited MVP-SOS.
"Rob Ryder, owner of The Cookhouse, found out about our non-profit last year," explained Tim Jalbert, founder of MVP-SOS, "and has been ever so generous since that time helping us raise money for those children less fortunate in the town of New Milford."
Funds have helped children participate in sports, sports camp, band, art classes and more.
"The organization believes children should have the ability to participate in athletics and school and community activities," added Jalbert, "regardless of financial resources."
Th Cookhouse benefit was the first in a series of fundraisers to benefit MVP-SOS this year.
