The satirical hijinks of "Hawkeye" Pierce, "Hot Lips" Houlihan and the gang at M.A.S.H. graced the stage recently for appreciative crowds at New Milford High School.

The school's Drama Club offered its inaugural presentation of "M*A*S*H" over a two-night run, Dec. 7-8.

The satirical play, based on the 1968 novel "MASH: A Novel About Three Army Doctors" by Richard Hooker, echoes the popular 1970 movie and late 1970s-early '80s television show of the same name.

It follows the medical efforts and off-duty exploits of the doctors, nurses and staff of the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital during the Korean War.

The show was directed by NMHS faculty member Andrea Norem.

Among the cast were Cody Helgesen as Capt. Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce, Emma Nissenbaum as Major Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan, Lindsey Partelow as Major Frank Burns and Major Ruth Haskell, Kirk Burrows as Col. Henry Blake, R.J. Lee as Capt. "Trapper" John McIntyre, Nick Del Mastro as Capt. Bedford "Duke" Forrest and Courtney Hengel as Cpl. Radar O'Reilly.
