The Merryall Center for the Arts in New Milford will present a musical coffeehouse program with Lumos Saturday at 8 p.m.

The duet, featuring Susanna Marker and Al Burgasser, of Sherman, will blend guitar, violin and harmony at the Chapel Hill Road center.

Marker and Burgasser started playing together at the Sherman Song Swap in the early 2000s, each as a member of different bands, she with Red Dirt Road, Red and Yeller and multiple independent collaborations; and he with Cripple Creek, co-hosting the Sherman Song Swap and several area open mic nights.

Their first public performance as a duo was in 2010 for the SoNo Arts Festival in South Norwalk. They have since worked to popularize their style and special mix of original and cover music from a variety of genres.

They recently created the Ole Sherman Opry, a celebration of the extensive local talent and diversity of music in western Connecticut.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
