Minor Memorial Library in Roxbury will introduce its summer reading program, “Exercise Your Mind,” June 24 at 7 p.m.

Dr. Lori Monaco will present a lecture, “Your Amazing Brain,” which will provide a general introduction to the human brain, including its anatomy, physiology, and how to keep the brain healthy, at the South Street library.

Dr. Monaco’s lecture is the first of a series of lectures, events and classes that will provide both theoretical and practical introductions to activities that promote physical and mental health.

A community run/walk event, co-sponsored by the Roxbury Recreation Commission and Roxbury Road Race, will follow on June 25, when the official sign-up for both the adult and children’s reading programs will begin.

Other activities in the program include lectures on hiking and nature, family ceramic sculpture, SoulCollage, meditation, alternative healing techniques, and martial arts.

The Roxbury Senior Center will offer exercise classes including yoga, chair yoga, aerobics, and Zumba.
