Library association’s spring gala a ‘great success’
To the Editor:
A lovely evening was had by all June 20 at a whimsical estate at the end of Flanders Lane in Kent.
In spite of the dark, cloudy, rainy skies, the Kent Memorial Library Association held its annual spring gala with great success.
Approximately 275 guests and library supporters enjoyed the generous hospitality of hosts Sally and Tony Zunino. The gardens and mountains provided an amazing backdrop and music was ever present for this special evening.
The generosity of local businesses made the evening even more successful.
None of this could have been possible without the strength of so many wonderful volunteers, too numerous to name here.
It was exciting to see so many new and familiar faces who came to support the outstanding programs. We wish to thank all of the attendees for supporting our special library.
Guests had the chance to increase their support by bidding on exceptional silent auction items, fun chances, and an opportunity to “Fill a Wish.”
This event is but one of the many things that support the library.
More than two-thirds of the revenue for the library is privately raised to enable the hundreds of programs we supply each year.
Please continue to support us by visiting our summer long book sale, quilt and car raffle.
