Minor Memorial Library in Roxbury has announced its future plans.

They will include additional programs, developing more services for older children and tweaking of hours of operation to better accommodate more of the community.

These are among the ideas the library’s board of trustees and the library director are considering as they follow their newly developed strategic plan for guiding the library through the next three years.

During the summer and fall of 2016, in addition to examining current Best Library Practices, the board circulated a town-wide survey and conducted focus groups to seek advice from the community.

Results of the survey and focus group meetings showed that while the majority of Roxbury residents are pleased with the services the library provides, there are areas where the library can be even more responsive to the needs of the community.
