Liboria "Libby" R. Merlo, 92, of Danbury, died Oct. 28. She was the wife of Natale Frank Merlo for 67 years.

She was born Jan. 7, 1921, in Easton, Pa., the daughter of the late Phillip Fortino and Sebastiana Mattina Fortino.

Before they were married, she and her husband lived in Easton. They moved to New York City after they were married. While raising her children and caring for her family, she resided in Queens, N.Y., where she was a school chef in an elementary school in the Whitestone section of Queens.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Marie Mullins, and her husband, Earl, of New Milford; her son, Salvatore Merlo, and his wife, Laurie, of Bethel; her brother, Placido Fortino, of Bethlehem, Pa.; her sister, Nita Wismer, of Easton six grandchildren, Amanda Mullins, of Meriden; Marisa Bangs, of Wethersfield; Lauren Merlo, of Chester, Va.; Stefan Merlo, of Hoboken, N.J.; Jenna Merlo, of Las Vegas; Gregory Merlo, of Bethel; three great-grandchildren, Norah, Natalie and Connor Bangs, of Wethersfield; and many nieces and nephews.

Interment was at Willowbrook Cemetery in Westport.

The Cornell Memorial Home in Danbury was in charge of the arrangements.
