To the editor:

On behalf of New Milford Visiting Nurse & Hospice, and the children and families of Camp Jonathan, I would like to thank so many of our local merchants and businesses for their generous donations and participation in support of the second annual Sip & Stroll for Camp Jonathan held Dec. 4.

This year’s event, attended by more than 275 people, was a partnership between New Milford VNA & Hospice, Bank Street Investments, New Milford Economic Development Department and Nutmeg Olive Oil Co.

Participants visited downtown shops and businesses for delicious beverage and food tastings along with special offers and discounts for holiday shopping.

Many of the “strollers” later dined at various downtown restaurants.

The event exceeded our expectations.

The beautiful downtown area and Village Green of New Milford provided a perfect quintessential New England setting for this event.

The participants had a great evening strolling, shopping and meeting friends.

The funds raised from this event will benefit Camp Jonathan, our bereavement camp for children.

Camp Jonathan just celebrated its 21st year and has helped hundreds of bereaved children and their families deal with the loss of a loved one.

The camp is offered at no charge and is sponsored by New Milford VNA & Hospice and many generous individuals and businesses in our community.
