Letter: Bethel's Bob Burke a schoolyard bully
When something good happens, he's quick to take the credit, whether he had anything to do with it or not.
When something goes wrong, he always finds someone to blame. That is especially evident when the problem involves the schools.
A recent example concerns the flooding incident at Bethel High, which Burke publicly blamed on the school's maintenance supervisor,
It was not Mr. Germinaro's responsibility to follow each licensed plumber around the building; that is why we hire licensed contractors.
Germinaro's role in this case was to contact the plumber and put them in touch with Morganti to complete the work.
In no way was Mr. Germinaro responsible for the mistake that caused the flood. Yet, in speaking with the press about the incident, Burke just about fell all over himself at the chance to publicly humiliate a dedicated, hard-working school employee.
Bob Germinaro has done outstanding work for the Bethel public school system for more than 10 years. He is a decorated military veteran who makes himself available to handle all school emergencies 24 hours a day.
Bethel is fortunate to have such a committed and talented manager working on behalf of our children. He does not deserve Bob Burke's disgraceful schoolyard bullying.
Burke owes Bob Germinaro an apology, at the very least. But given Mr. Burke's record, none of us should hold our breath waiting for one.
