Laura Mae "Gigi" Benedict, 85, of Bethel, died July 25, 2011, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Benedict was born March 25, 1926, in Philadelphia, Pa.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Danbury for more than 60 years and the Order of the Eastern Star and a longtime Stanley Home Products dealer.

Mrs. Benedict and her husband of 63 years, Alfred, raised their four girls in Bethel and have lived there for more than 55 years.

They enjoyed spending time with their family camping and wintering in Florida.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Benedict is survived by four daughters, Lynne Benedict, of California, Karen Robinson, and her husband, Wes, of Florida, Laurie Lincoln, of Naugatuck, and Dawn Sadler, and her husband, Roby, of New Milford; five grandchildren, Mariah Robinson, Jason Estep, Josh Robinson, and his wife, Sonie, Samantha Lincoln, and Heather Bishop, and her husband, Eric; and two great-granddaughters, Avery Robinson Cologna, and Ellie Robinson. She was predeceased by her infant daughter, Phyllis Benedict.

There are no calling hours. A private burial will be held at Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.

The Hull Funeral Service of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
