To the editor:

The New Milford Food Bank and Loaves & Fishes Hospitality House would like to thank the U.S. postal carriers for a tremendously successful campaign with "Stamp Out Hunger."

On Saturday, May 11, area postal carriers picked up 2,500 pounds of food from local mailboxes and helped unload it (in the rain) at our Richmond

Citizen Center location.

This food will help feed over 265 families by helping to fill the food bags during weekly food bank.

The donations will also help Loaves & Fishes provide dinner and bag lunches for 24 to 36 persons every day.

We would also like to thank the community of New Milford for its generous donations of non-

perishable food items.

Lastly, a special thanks to volunteers from New Milford Big Y, the youth group of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and volunteers from New Milford Food Bank and Loaves & Fishes, who worked tirelessly to help sort and stock the food pantries of both organizations.

We look forward to this very important program

every year as a critical means of helping local families with their food needs. We thank all of you for your efforts and generosity.
