Land trust sets 'Sunset Celebration'

The Roxbury Land Trust will hold a “Sunset Celebration” on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at its Gavel Family Farm Preserve.

In case of rain, the event will be held at Hurlburt Park on Apple Lane.

Music will be provided by the Doug White Jazz Quintet.

Attendees are encouraged to bring picnics and blankets and/or chairs to the event, which will be take place at a farm field with views of Roxbury and beyond.

Dessert will be provided by the land trust.

White, a composer, singer and tenor saxophonist featured throughout Europe and the East Coast, has enjoyed international acclaim at the helm of his own trios and quartets since the early 1970s.

He is the founder of the independent jazz record label Juniper Records and has performed with legendary singer Annie Ross.

The preserve is located on Dorothy Diebold Lane in Roxbury, near the intersection of Route 317.

No pets are permitted at the event at either location.
