A motorcyclist killed Sunday, July 7 in a collision with a car on Danbury Road (Route 7 South) has been identified as a 34-year-old Lakeville man, police said.

Aman Egan sustained fatal injuries when his southbound motorcycle collided at approximately 5:10 p.m. with a car making a left turn from a driveway, police said.

The driver of the car, Katherine Morehead, 21, of New Fairfield, was extricated from her vehicle by emergency personnel.

She was transported to Danbury Hospital, where she was treated and released on the same day, according to a hospital spokesman.

The collision occurred in the left northbound travel lane, police said. The circumstances of the crash are still under investigation.

A witness to the accident, Preston Rutz, of New Milford, told The Spectrum the motorcycle hit the driver's side of the car, which was pulling out of the Valero gas station on the west side of Danbury Road.

The motorcycle driver, wearing a helmet, crashed through the window of the car into its driver, Rutz said.
