The Knights of Columbus, the Rev. Thomas F. Bennett Council No. 14318 in Washington Depot recently presented five college-bound Our Lady of Perpetual Help parishioners with scholarships. Scholarship chairman David DeWitt announced the winners at the June 19 church picnic. DeWitt, left, is shown above with, from left to right, Shepaug Valley School graduates Ryan Welsh, son of Kerry O'Toole and Maurile Welsh, who will attend Massachusetts Marine Academy to major in marine engineering; Amber-Marie Wright, daughter of Tammy Fitzpatrick, who will attend Wheaton College to major in international relations and political science; John Carlos da Fonte, son of Carlos and Laura da Fonte, who will attend Savannah College of Art & Design to major in 2D animation and film; and Clayton Michael Schneider, who will attend UCONN to major in engineering. Missing from the photo is Caroline Kelly, daughter of Jim and JoAnne Kelly, who will attend UCONN to major in bio-medical engineering.
