Kids invited to summer program

The junior library at Gunn Memorial Library in Washington is offering a summer reading program, "Fizz, Boom, READ!"

Children can earn prizes and chances to win donated prizes by keeping track of their reading time.

Participants will receive a book bag filled with goodies and a reading log upon registration, which began Monday.

Coinciding family programs will include a visit with Animal Embassy of Stamford, featuring a variety of exotic animals, July 1 at 6:30 p.m., and a program about chemical and physical changes using common household products with instructor Velya Jancz-Urban for children ages 4 and older July 8 at 6:30 p.m.
