The junior library at Gunn Memorial Library in Washington is offering a summer reading program, "Fizz, Boom, READ!"
Children can earn prizes and chances to win donated prizes by keeping track of their reading time.
Participants will receive a book bag filled with goodies and a reading log upon registration, which began Monday.
Coinciding family programs will include a visit with Animal Embassy of Stamford, featuring a variety of exotic animals, July 1 at 6:30 p.m., and a program about chemical and physical changes using common household products with instructor Velya Jancz-Urban for children ages 4 and older July 8 at 6:30 p.m.
