Khyva A. Radzewicz, 94, of New Milford, died Nov. 14, 2010, at her home. She was the wife of the late Joseph D. Radzewicz Sr. for 58 years.

Mrs. Radzewicz was born Feb. 2, 1916, in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Walter G. and Lydia (Henion) Adam.

She moved to New Milford in 1920 and was a graduate of New Milford High School. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church in New Milford.

Mrs. Radzewicz served the town of New Milford in the tax collector's office for 25 years.

She was the town's elected tax collector for 11 years, leaving the office in 1976. She went on to work in the business office at Canterbury School in New Milford for many years.

She served the New Milford Democratic Town Committee for several terms. In 1969, she received a Certificate of Honor from the Democratic National Committee for her dedicated service to the community.

Mrs. Radzewicz is survived by two sons, Joseph D. Radzewicz Jr., and his wife, Deborah, of West Chester, Pa., and James M. Radzewicz, and his wife, Marcia, of Palm Harbor, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Allison and Michael.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today (Friday) at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, New Milford.

There will be no calling hours.
