The Kent Board of Education has approved a proposed $3.6 million budget for Kent Center School.

That figure would bring the town's education budget to $6,220,339 for 2010-11, including Kent's portion of the Region 1 district budget.

The budget would represents a .15 percent increase over the present year.

"We're very pleased to be able to put forth a budget with such a small increase," said Kent school board chairman Tracy Horosky. "It's been a great collaboration between the board and the administration to put forth a budget that is very reasonable for the town."
