Kent park and recreation notes
The Kent Park and Recreation Department is offering a variety of programs.
Office hours on the second floor at town hall are Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon. and 1 to 2:30 p.m. Program registration forms are available outside the office weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Recreation passes for 2010 are $35 for residents and $65 for non-residents. There is no charge for residents aged 65 and older. Passes are sold at the Park and Rec office and at Emery Park. Passes are necessary for swimming and swim lessons at Emery Park, for tennis at Kent Common Park and for holiday ice skating.
Figure skating lessons for youths aged 6 and older will be offered Saturdays from 7 to 8 a.m. from Jan. 9 to Feb. 13 (and a possible Feb. 20 makeup date) at the Kent School rink. Cost will be $60. Signup deadline is today (Friday), Dec. 31.
Signup is open for sessions for Center School students in grades K-6 meeting school days from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Pre-registered participants may attend on a full or part-time basis at the cost of $9 per day including snack. The program features homework time, indoor and outdoor activities, games, sports and arts and crafts. Handbooks and registration forms are available at town hall or by calling the Park and Rec office at 860-927-1003.
Ice skating programs hosted by Kent Park and Recreation and Kent School and South Kent School are offered this winter. Park passes required for participation are available at $35 for residents or $65 for non-residents. Residents aged 65 and older may skate for free. A $5 daily fee is also available. Participants must wear a hat and skates for open skate and helmets and skates for sticks and pucks. For skating dates and times, call 9860-927-1003.
