Kent park and recreation notes
The Kent Park and Recreation Department is offering a variety of programs.
Office hours on the second floor at town hall are Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon. and 1 to 2:30 p.m. Program registration forms are available outside the office weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Recreation passes for 2009-10 are $35 for residents and $65 for non-residents. There is no charge for residents aged 65 and older. Passes are sold at the Park and Rec office and at Emery Park. Passes are necessary for swimming and swim lessons at Emery Park, for tennis at Kent Common Park and for holiday ice skating.
Signup is open for sessions for Center School students in grades K-6 to meet school days from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Pre-registered participants may attend on a full or part-time basis at the cost of $9 per day including snack. The program features homework time, indoor and outdoor activities, games, sports and arts and crafts. Handbooks and registration forms are available at town hall or by calling the Park and Rec office at (860) 927-1003.
Domestic and international trips coordinated by Kent Park and Recreation and Collette Vacations will soon be offered to residents. Trips are planned April 10-19, 2010 to Great Britain and July 12-20, 2010 to the Canadian Rockies. For a travel brochure, information or to book a reservation, call (860) 927-1003.
Sessions meet Thursdays from 5:45 to 7 p.m. at the Community House on North Main Street. Cost is $75 for six weeks or $15 per class. Registration may be made at the Park and Rec office.
`Group Power' fitness
Liz Zangrillo instructs full-body workouts at the Community House in sessions meeting Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. at the cost of $75 for four weeks or $10 per class. Signup is available at the Park and Rec office or at class.
Flex appeal for seniors
A free exercise program for seniors designed to increase strength, balance and flexiblity is offered Thursdays at 9 a.m. at the Senior Center on Swift Lane. Sessions are conducted by licensed physical therapist from the New Milford Visting Nurse Association. The VNA recommends participants get physicians' approval.
