YOUTH

After-school program

Signup is open for sessions for Center School students in grades K-6 to meet school days from 3 to 5:30 p.m. starting Aug. 31. Pre-registered participants may attend on a full or part-time basis at the cost of $9 per day including snack. The program features homework time, indoor and outdoor activities, games, sports and arts and crafts. Handbooks and registration forms are available at town hall or by calling the Park and Rec office at (860) 927-1003.

Youth dance

Tots and taps' and other tap and creative dance classes are available in coming weeks, directed by former Rockettes and Broadway dancer Jeri Kansas at the Community House.

Flu vaccinations

A flu vaccination clinic for Kent seniors will be held Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Templeton Farms Common Room off Swift Lane, sponsored by the New Milford VNA and Kent Park and Recreation. A flu vaccination clinic for residents will be offered Nov. 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at town hall. Participants would be covered for cost by Medicare Park B (bring card), Healthnet, Aetna Health Insurance or Anthem Blue Cross. Cost would be $37 if not covered.

Evening yoga

Sessions meet Thursdays from 5:45 to 7 p.m. at the Community House on North Main Street. Cost is $75 for six weeks or $15 per class. Registration may be made at the Park and Rec office.۩
