Kent library to host a variety of events
The Kent Memorial Library has announced its upcoming offerings.
An art exhibit featuring works by Ron Jones is on display at the library through June 30.
A reception will be held May 7 from 3 to 5 p.m.
Reception registration is required.
"Off the Wall," an origami group exhibit, will open May 21 from 3 to 5 p.m.
Origamists have been folding and creating together for several years.
Reception registration is requested.
Book discussion group will talk about "The White Tiger" May 24 and "A Fierce Radiance" June 21, all at 5 p.m.
Programs open to all ages include an origami workshop May 14 from 10 a.m. to noon, the Informal Club May 14 at 2 p.m., a poetry workshop May 21 at 10 a.m., Chess Club May 21 from 1 to 3 p.m. and yoga Saturdays at 8:30 a.m.
Children's offerings will include a poster contest party Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., a Mother's Day story hour for children aged 3 to 9 May 7 at 10:30 a.m., a night of improve for kids in fifth grade May 21 from 7 to 8:30 p.m., the Nutmeg Discussion Group May 26 at 3 p.m., Rhythm and Rhyme for children birth to 3 Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. and Lunch Bunch for all ages Thursdays at 12:15 p.m.
In other library news, book donations will be accepted May 27 and 29 from noon to 5 p.m. and May 28 and 30 from 10 to 5 p.m.
