The Kent Memorial Library on Main Street in Kent has announced its upcoming offerings.

"Landscapes in Encaustic: the Ancient Method of Painting with Bee's Wax," an exhibit of art by Linda Petrocine of Kent is on display through Aug. 31.

A reception with an artist demonstration, weather permitting, will be held Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m.

Family activities will include a kid-friendly chamber concert with the Sherman Chamber Ensemble today at 2 p.m.; a bring-your-own-dinner picnic and screening of "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" July 22 at 6 p.m.; and a sidewalk chalk event July 30 at 10:30 a.m.

Events geared toward teens will include game show night for children entering fifth grade and older July 15 at 6:30 p.m. and a drop-off library camp for kids in grades K-5 July 13, 20 and 27 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Offerings for all ages will include an origami workshop Satuday from 10 a.m. to noon, a poetry workshop July 16 at 10 a.m., and Chess Club each third Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m.
