The Kent Holiday Champagne Stroll will be this weekend, Nov. 29-30, from 4 to 8 p.m. each day.

The event, which coincides with Small Business Saturday, will feature 30 champagnes at 30 stores.

Patrons are invited to taste champagnes and, when they do, their name will be entered to win a bottle of Dom Perignon.

Many of the shops will offer special events and sales.

Among the offerings will be a Nov. 29 live painting demonstration by local artist Ken Musselman at Backcountry Outfitters; a free ornament with each purchase of $25 at Primitive Home; drawings to win a handmade coffee table at Housatonic Hardwoods; discounts on fine furniture at the Good Gallery; and more.

Patrons are invited to purchase a flute for $5 at the first shop they enter and will have a chance to sample champagne, with a portion of the $5 to support the Kent Chamber of Commerce and local causes.

"These two days reflect how Kent merchants are active and involved with their customers and community," said Geraldine Woodruff, owner of Terston Home Accents and Apparel.

"While strollers shop, they'll be able to sample more different types of champagne and sparkling wine than we do at a tasting," according to Ira Smith, owner of Kent Wine and Spirit.
