Kent Singers concert set at St. John's

The Kent Singers( will present a concert, “In Cruce: Music of Buxtehude, Mendelssohn, Mozart and Byrd,” March 18 at 5 p.m. in New Milford.

The concert at St. John’s Episcopal Church on Whittlesey Avenue will feature “Membra Jesu Nostri,” Dietrich Buxtehude's cantata cycle, as well as other seasonal works.

It will be conducted by music director James Knox Sutterfield, with soloists soprano Megan Chartrand, mezzo-soprano Kate Maroney, tenor Brian Giebler and bass-baritone Andrew Padgett.

The performers will be accompanied by a string ensemble and organ.

The Kent Singers, a small auditioned group of amateur singers from the Litchfield County area, has been performing since 1973.

Tickets are $15 in advance on the organization’s website and $20 at the door.
