Kent Sidewalk Festival under way

The Kent Chamber of Commerce presents the Kent Sidewalk Festival through Sunday in downtown Kent.

Offerings will include shopping and sales at numerous downtown shops, food and specials at restaurants, special events, a National Clown Day event and more.

Annie Bananie Ice Cream will offer “Cheeseburgers in Paradise” on Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

St. Andrew’s Church will host its annual tag sale Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Early bird shopping is set for Friday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. for $10.

The library will continue its annual book sale and car raffle.

The Sherman Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will offer a tag sale at St. Andrew’s, and the Kent Quilters will host a sale to raise funds for the Kent Veterans Memorial Committee.

The Kent Volunteer Fire Department will offer fire truck rides on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Vintage cars will parade through town and park on the Kent Green on Saturday 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. during Kent Car Cruise Night, which includes a drawing, door prizes, awards and a barbecue.

The Kent Art Association will continue its president’s juried show, and other local art galleries will be open.

Other activities will include caricatures by Emily, Henna by Elyse, Charms of the Heart (pick a charm, create a bracelet), Fascia Chocolate’s Sweet ’n’ Salty Tasting, face painting by Alicia Coffin Saturday at the Fife, and a celebration for National Clown Day Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the library.

Davis IGA will host a lobster fest Friday and Saturday.

Kent Park & Rec will host a concert, featuring the Joint Chiefs, during the festivities, and Heather & Tobias will provide music at the Kent Station Pharmacy on Saturday.
