Kent Pumpkin Run, Kids' Fun Run kick off Sunday
The 33rd annual Kent Pumpkin Run five-mile road race will be held Sunday at noon by the Kent Chamber of Commerce.
The USTAF-certified course will start and finish at the Green in front of town hall and features the run along Cobble Lane and Cobble Road.
Those pre-registered by today (Friday) for $18 will receive a T-shirt designed by former Kent resident Erika Echols depicting days in the pumpkin patches of Kent and area towns.
Race-day signup will be $20 and T-shirts will be sold at an additional cost.
Cash prizes will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in each of eight age divisions.
As in recent years, Billy Leo's pumpkin soup is expected to be a popular post-race refreshment. Other post-race refreshments will be provided by Davis IGA and its suppliers.

A free Kids' Fun Run sponsored by Kent Park and Recreation will be offered at 11:30 a.m. at town hall for youths aged 10 and younger. Divisional runs will be held for kids aged 4 and younger, 5 to 7 and 7 to 10. All participants will receive prizes.
