Kent Park and Recreation notes

The Kent Park and Recreation Department is offering a variety of programs. Yoga Fitness Fusion

Bonnie Jo Cheron instructs sessions blending yoga and pilates Thursdays from 5:45 to 7 p.m. at the Community House on North Main Street (Route 7). Cost is $75 for six meetings or $15 per class.



Ballet and jazz dance classes for youths aged 4 to sixth grade and jazz and tap for adults are offered at the Community House, directed by former Rockettes and Broadway dancer Jeri Kansas at the Community House. Pre-registration is required.


Blood pressure

Blood pressure screenings for residents aged 60 and older are available the first Wednesday of each month from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Senior Center along Swifts Lane.

Senior luncheon

A luncheon program for residents aged 60 and older is offered Fridays at noon at the Senior Center along Swifts Lane, with meals provided by The Kent. A $2 donation is suggested for lunch. For reservations, call 860-927-4627.

Senior suppers

Kent seniors are welcome to dine at New Milford Hospital daily from 4 to 6 p.m. Reservations must be made by 2 p.m. that day by calling 860-210-7470.

Adult basketball

Free basketball sessions for men and women are offered at the Kent Center School gymnasium. Men meet Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. and women meet Mondays from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Participants must submit a waiver form available at the gym.
