The Kent Volunteer Fire Department will host its 101st annual ball June 9 at the firehouse at 28 Maple St. Doors will open at 6, with dinner to follow at 7 p.m.

Fire department members Veronica Limbos and Amanda Harvey are co-chairwomen.

Offerings will include appetizers from local restaurants, dinner, dancing to the music of Key of D Music and raffles.

Dinner will consist of roast beef -- fire roasted by past Fire Chief Bill Tobin and his crew -- and nonbeef dishes.

Guests may bring their own beverages. Setups will be provided.

Invitations will be mailed out soon.

Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 at the door, space permitting, the evening of the ball. They may be purchased at Town Hall on Kent Green and at several businesses in town, including Kent Fabrics and Kent Wine and Spirit.
