The Kent Volunteer Fire Department will host a special centennial celebration at its annual Fireman's Ball this year.

The ball will held June 11 at the firehouse at 28 Maple St.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. with dinner to follow at 7 p.m.

Offerings will include appetizers from local restaurants, dinner, dancing to the music of Key of D Music, the centennial celebration, raffles and a display of KVFD memorabilia.

Dinner will consist of roast beef -- fire roasted by past Fire Chief Bill Tobin and his crew -- or baked stuffed shells for vegetarian guests, according to Dawn Molnar, ball chairwoman.

Guests may bring their own beverages. Setups will be provided.

Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 at the door, space permitting the evening of the ball. They may be purchased at town hall on Kent Green and at several businesses in town.

Residents who have not yet received an invitation and would like one are asked to email or call 860-927-3080.
