The Kent Art Association (www.kentart.org) will present its 26th annual student art show March 3-4 and March 10-11 from 1 to 5 p.m. each day.

A reception and award ceremony will be offered March 3 from 2 to 4 p.m.

The show features works by talented young artists from northwest Connecticut and neighboring New York State public and private secondary schools.

All mediums including collage, oils, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, pen and ink, and photography will be represented.

Award-winning photographer Karin Smith and KAA President Connie Horton will serve as judges.

The association’s next show, a members’ show, will run March 24 through April 15, followed by the spring juried show, which will open April 28 with a 1920’s-themed cocktail party from 2 to 6 p.m.

The juried show will also include an exhibit of works by the founders of the Kent Art Association, sculptor Willard Paddock and artists Rex Brasher, George Lawrence Nelson, Robert Nesbit, Spenser Nicholas, Frederick Waugh, F. Louis Mora, Eliot Clark and Floyd Claymer.

Lectures on each of the founding artists will also be offered during the show.

The gallery at 21 South Main St. is open Thursdays through Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m.
