Joseph J. Scarano, 95, formerly of 20 Wolf Hill Road, Wolcott, died Feb. 3, 2010, at Paradigm Health Care Center in Waterbury. He was the husband of Dorothea (Willey) Scarano.

Mr. Scarano was born Nov. 15, 1914, in Bronx, N.Y., son of the late Arthur and Adeline (Carucci) Scarano.

He was retired from Electronics for Medicine in White Plains, N.Y., where he worked as a field service engineer.

Mr. Scarano was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II.

He was a member of the American Legion, a communicant of St. Pius X Church in Wolcott and enjoyed repairing things.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Scarano is survived by a daughter, Alena Scarano, of Fairfield; three sons, Arthur Scarano, of Virginia, Joseph Scarano, of New Hampshire, and Stephen Scarano, of New Milford; a sister, Lillian Arena, of Goshen; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a niece; and two nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Anna Novotny.

A memorial Mass will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 12 Ardsley Road, Waterbury. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
