John E. Hiro, 67, of Palm City, Fla., formerly of Danbury, died unexpectedly Dec. 14, 2011, at his home in Florida. He was the husband of Suzanne (Long) Hiro.

Mr. Hiro grew up in Danbury and was a graduate of St. Joseph School and Danbury High School.

Mr. Hiro and his wife, Sue, had lived for many years in Milford, prior to moving to Palm City 20 years ago.

He had worked as a wealth management advisor for the Merrill-Lynch division of Bank of America.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Kathleen Hiro, of Ft. Pierce, Fla., Christine Pacey, and her husband, Simon, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Mary Margaret Hiro, of West Haven; four brothers, Dr. Stephen Hiro, of Missoula, Mont., Paul Hiro, of New Milford, Christopher Hiro, of Columbia, Md., and Peter Hiro, of Jasper, Ga.; three sisters, Mary H. Trainor, and Ann H. Barlow, of Fairfield, and Beth Gadoci, of Darnstown, Md.; two grandchildren, Thomas M. Pacey and Regan Bailey; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated Jan. 21, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the Holy Redeemer Church, Palm City, Florida. Inurnment will follow.
