Jennie A. Dunn, 91, was a native of Roxbury
She spent her childhood in Roxbury and was raised on the family farm along with her 10 brothers and sisters. She graduated in 1931 from Booth Free High School in Bridgewater, where she boarded with close family friends so that she could complete her high school education.
Jennie was a Catholic and a member of St. Joseph Ladies Guild. She was an accomplished seamstress who was called upon to create garments for wedding parties. She was employed by Read's Department Store, White Turkey Inn, The Hotel Green and Durkins Diner.
Mrs. Dunn is survived by two daughters, Janet Conners of Bridgeport and Sharon Etzel and her husband Gerard of Southport; a brother, Louis Pokrywka and his wife Jane of Florida; a sister, Catherine Hancock of Danbury; 10 grandchildren, Shawn Conners , Gregg Conners and his companion Florence Mercer , Matt Conners and his wife Leila, Minette Conners, Wayne Britto , Brian Britto and his wife Jackie, Jaime Britto and his wife Darlene, Sharon Doherty and her husband Dan, George Britto and Tyler Etzel; two sisters-in-law, Mary Pokrywka and Annie; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Carole Britto and her husband Howard; five sisters, Anna Egan and her husband John, Mary Pokrywka, Caroline Tomanio and husband Felix, Julia Cole and husband Hilliard, Eva Machno and husband John; three brothers, Joseph Pokrywka and his wife Josephine, Albert Pokrywka, Paul Pokrywka and his wife Ennie; and a brother-in-law, Donald.
The Cornell Memorial Home of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
