Jeffery Astor, 53, was a gifted bowler
He was born Feb. 23, 1955, in New York, N.Y., son of the late Elmo John and Lillian (del Valle) Astor.
He was raised in the Bronx, N.Y., and graduated from New Milford High School three years after his family had relocated to Connecticut.
At the time of his death, Mr. Astor worked for Neeltran. He previously worked for Rapid Power Technologies (Rapid Electric) for 30 years.
A gifted bowler, Mr. Astor bowled a perfect 300 on four occasions during his lifetime. A devoted member of two local leagues at Lore's Lanes and Brookfield Lanes, Mr. Astor belonged to numerous championship teams over the years.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia L. Astor; a son, James Cummings; two daughters, Yvonne Astor and Jacqueline Astor; a grandson, Julian Astor Marques; and mother-in-law, Patricia Cummings, all of New Milford; a brother, Elmo Lincoln Astor of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a sister, Janis Astor del Valle of New Haven; two nieces, Tennille and Christine; a great-nephew, Alex; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The Colonial Funeral Home of New Milford was in charge of arrangements.
