The Sherman Chamber Ensemble will present “Jazz in the Nave,” a concert to benefit the Kent Food Bank, Nov. 29 at 3 p.m. in Kent.

The concert will take place at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church at 1 North Main St.

This benefit builds on the ensemble's successful “Jazzing Up the Classics” program that has been produced the past four years and presented in collaboration with St Andrew’s Music in the Nave series.

The concert will feature an ensemble of accomplished New York musicians, including Ted Rosenthal on piano, Susan Rotholz on flute and vocals, Eliot Bailen on cello, Thomson Kneeland on bass and Chris Parker on drums.

The program will include jazz-inspired renditions of holiday favorites such as “Winter Wonderland,” “Greensleeves” and the “Dance of the Reed Flutes” from “The Nutcracker,” along with original compositions by Rosenthal, Kneeland and Parker.

In addition, Gershwin, Piazzolla and Boling pieces will be performed.

A reception with the performers will follow.

Ticket are $25, with a portion to benefit the food bank.
