James A. Flynn, 81, previously of Wyomissing and of Denver, Pa., died May 21, 2010, in Lancaster General Hospital. His wife, Joan C. (Marcroft) Flynn, died Feb. 24, 1987.

Mr. Flynn was born in Harlem, N.Y., son of the late James A. and Marie T. (Daly) Flynn.

He was a Korean War veteran, serving as Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Flynn earned his B.S. degree in engineering from SUNY, Maritime, The Bronx, in New York City.

He was a nuclear engineer for the New York Power Authority.

Mr. Flynn was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes, New Holland, Pa.

He is survived by five children, James A., of Coopersburg, Pa., Jeff E., of Palm Coast, Fla., Sharon M. Westfall, of Oxford, N.C., Janet T. Flynn, of Montoursville, Pa., and Rob, of New Milford; a sister, Janet T. Shea, of Granville, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home of West Reading was in charge of arrangements.
