James W. Anderson, 51, of East Main Street, North Canaan, formerly of Sharon, died Feb. 9, 2010, at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the husband of Roberta (Morrill) Anderson.

Mr. Anderson was born March 11, 1958, in Sharon, the son of Madeline (McKee) Anderson of Sharon and the late Merle Anderson.

Mr. Anderson graduated from Housatonic Valley Regional High School in Falls Village in 1976. He earned a degree from UMass in the Turf and Grass Science Program.

Early in his career, Mr. Anderson worked at the Sharon Country Club, Community Fuel and Up Country Services.

For the past 24 years, Mr. Anderson worked in operations at The Kent School.

He was a longtime member of the Sharon Fire Department.

In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Anderson is survived by two daughters, Courtney and Chelsea; two brothers, Merle and Robert Anderson; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private burial will be held in the spring.

The Kenny Funeral Home in Sharon is in charge of arrangements.
