The Jewish Community Center in Sherman will present “For the Love of Shakespeare” Feb. 17 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 18 at 2 p.m.

The Valentine’s Day-themed performance will feature scenes, songs and monologues centered around the love themes embedded in some of Shakespeare's plays.

The scenes and monologues are from the plays “As You Like It,” “Much to do About Nothing,” “Richard III,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” “Richard II,” “Romeo and Juliet,” “Henry V,” “The Taming of the Shrew,” “Troilus and Cressida” and “Twelfth Night.”

The songs will be a myriad of Renaissance and Old English love songs.

Actors will include Stacy Lee Frome, Steve Manzino, Kimberly Marcus, Jared Emanuel, Rufus DeRham, Jessica Gleason, Paige Gray, Sherri Bresson Fitzpatrick, Miles Everett, Katherine Almquist, Steve Stott, Alex Desjardins and Suzy Abrams.

The music will be performed by Beth Bonnebeau and Missy Hanlon.

The performance will be directed by Robin Frome, of the Sherman Playhouse.

Tickets are $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers.

The refreshments are BYOB picnic-style for general seating at provided tables.
