Kent Historical Society will hold its next Sunday Series program, “The Howling Wilderness: Western Connecticut in the 18th Century,” Jan. 22 at 2 p.m. at Kent Town Hall on Kent Green Boulevard.

Michael Everett, the president of the Kent Historical Society and an emeritus professor at the Rhode Island School of Design, will discuss conditions in Western Connecticut at the beginning of the 18th century.

The Revolutionary period is often viewed as the starting point of Kent’s history, but the town was founded well before that.

Admission is free for KHS members and $5 for nonmembers.
