The New Milford Visiting Nurse Association Hospice Program will hold its annual volunteer training program beginning March 28.

Training will consist of five evening sessions from 5 to 8 p.m. and one Saturday morning session at the VNA, 68 Park Lane Road (Route 202).

Trained volunteers are needed to provide a myriad supportive services to terminally ill patients and their families.

Those services may include family respite, patient support, transportation, errands, help with paperwork, child care and more. Prospective applicants should have at least one year since the date of the loss of a significant person in their lives before beginning Hospice volunteer training.

Advance registration for this training is required by calling Mary Peitler, Hospice volunteer coordinator, at 860-354-2216.
