New Milford Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice is accepting registration for its free bereavement day camp for children and teens.
Camp Jonathan, now in its 19th year, is open to children ages 6 to 18 who have experienced the loss of a loved one through death.
It provides a safe setting for children to express their grief and emotions through art, dance, crafts, music and discussion.
This year's camp is dedicated to the memory of the teachers and children who were killed at Sandy Hook School. All bereaved children in the area are invited to take part in this camp, and we extend a special invitation to any who may have been directly affected by the Newtown shootings.
The camp will be held Aug. 5-9 at St. John's Episcopal Church on Whittlesey Avenue.
