Henry Dutton, 86, served in the Navy
Henry (Hank) Dutton, 86, died Aug. 22, 2010, at his home in Warren after a long illness. He was the husband of Margaret Dutton for 37 years.
He was born Feb. 25, 1924, in Wilbur, Fla. He attended MIT and Drexel universities and earned a degree in engineering.
Mr. Dutton served in the Navy during World War II.
He last worked at Flygt, an international submersible pump company based in Norwalk. There, he held a number of pump design patents and in his last position was in charge of quality assurance.
Mr. Dutton loved acting and singing and was involved with local theater groups throughout Connecticut. He also enjoyed sailing and reading.
He was known for having a cheerful disposition, keen intellect and capacity for kindness.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Dutton is survived by his stepchildren, Stuart Tracy, and his wife, Ellen, and Maureen Tracy; two grandchildren, Katherine and Megan Tracy, of Washington; a sister, Barbara Dretzin, of Walpole, N.H.; three nieces, Erica, Andrea and Nina; a half-sister, Jenny Polcari, and her husband, Robert; a nephew, Michael, of Walpole; and his dog, Sandy.
A memorial tribute will be held Sept. 12. Interested people are asked to call Mrs. Dutton.
