Henderson to perform in Kent

St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Kent will hold its next Music in the Nave event, "Welcome Spring with Swing," with vocalist Lynn Henderson and her band March 15 at 7:30 p.m.

The event will take place in the parish house next to the church at the corner of Routes 7 and 341.

Henderson will be joined by her band, featuring Aaron Irwin on clarinet and saxophone, Doug Cohen on piano, Bob Sabin on bass and Bob Lenz on drums.

The concert will pay tribute to the era of the big bands.

Henderson is a cabaret singer who has performed with the late Skitch Henderson, founder of the New York Pops; Rob Fisher, conductor and pianist; John diMartino, jazz pianist; and Sherrie Maricle, leader of the Diva Jazz Orchestra.

Admission is $20 and includes wine, fizzy water and refreshments.

The next program in the series will be Russian trained pianist Margarita Nuller in concert March 23 at 4 p.m.
