Helen Worden, 86, lived in Bridgewater
She was born June 18, 1926, in Greenwich, and married Aug. 8, 1946. In 1957, she and her husband moved to Bridgewater, where they raised their three children.
She was passionate about her many dogs and cats, traveling, crocheting and cooking.
She was the Democratic registrar of voters in Bridgewater for more than 50 years.
She and her friends, Marion Carlson Smith, Marian Spodnick and Grace Meddaugh, were known as the "Bridgewater Ladies" to the owners of the Windmill Diner in New Milford, where they lunched weekly for many years.
She was known for her positive attitude and quick wit.
She is survived by her children, Jay T. Worden, of Bridgewater; Kathy Worden Sylvester, of St. Albans, Vt.; and Craig C. Worden, of Wade, Maine; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son-in-law, Arden D. Sylvester, in 2010.
Burial was at the South Cemetery in Bridgewater, with the Rev. Peter Hammond officiating.
Arrangements were made by the Hull Funeral Service in New Milford.
