A health and wellness fair will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Kent. The fair, Keep Eating Nutritious Day (KENT), is coordinated by Marie Roze, co-owner of Davis IGA, and Dr. Marilyn Gansel, owner of Fitness Matters and a holistic lifestyle coach.

Festivities will kick off with a health walk, led by Dr. Gansel and Dimples the Clown, starting at IGA on Kent Green, continuing through town and ending back at the IGA.

A variety of offerings, including demonstrations and health screenings, will be held after the walk.

Activities from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside IGA will include entertainment and balloon tricks with Dimples; $10 therapeutic massages with Sylvia Castro; free blood pressure and diabetes screenings, and body fat and body mass index analysis; and demonstrations of Arbonne skin products, cosmetics and nutritional line.

Clinical dietician Rachel Sobol of Sharon Hospital will talk about the new food guide pyramid.

Children are invited to participate in a jump rope contest at noon.

Raffles will be offered to win a child's bike, sponsored by the IGA, and to win a one-hour personal training session with Dr. Gansel.

T-shirt advertising will be available for $5, with donations to benefit the Kent Community Fund.

Donations of canned goods will benefit the Kent Food Bank.

For more information or to sign up for the walk, call Ms. Roze at 860-927-4093 or email mtr@davisiga.com.
