Hayrides, walk planned at preserve
Steep Rock Association (www.steeprockassoc.org) will offer a fall hayride and StoryWalk Oct. 28 from noon to 3 p.m. in New Preston.
Festivities will be held at Macricostas Preserve at 124 Christian St.
In case of inclement weather, the event will be postponed.
Guests should meet at the stone wall by Judea Garden, near the main parking lot.
Participants will follow the new StoryWalk trail to read the newly displayed book “Fletcher and the Falling Leaves” by Julia Rawlinson.
The walk will follow a half-mile trail, which leads to the expansive hayfield where a tractor and hay wagon will take guests on a ride around the field.
Rides will occur every 30 minutes from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Apple cider and donuts from Averill Farm will be available.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
