A Harvest Festival will be held Oct. 10 from noon to 5 p.m. on Bank, Railroad and Main streets in New Milford.

The event is being held in the spirit of last autumn's Bank Street Festival.

Bank Street will be closed to motor traffic for the afternoon, making way for a pedestrian walking area.

A stage will be set up on the street for various entertainers, including bands and other musical acts scheduled by Don Lowe of Sherman.

Among the confirmed offerings will be TheatreWorks children's performances, street dancing by FineLine Theater Arts students.

All restaurants on Main, Railroad and Bank streets will be asked to participate in the festivities by offering foods and snacks to patrons, and all stores will be asked to be open during the festival as well as offer activities.

Among those already booked to participate are The Village Center for the Arts on Main Street, Joe's Salon, Swank on Bank, SassyShoe, Skin Deep Inc., Sugar Hoot, the Bank Street Coffee House, the Bank St. Book Nook on Bank Street and New Milford Hospital.

The Railroad Street parking lot will be closed during the festival so a hospital fundraiser may take place.

In addition, vendors and children's activities will be offered in the parking lot.

Additionally, restaurants on Railroad Street will be open for business and offer specials
